I graduated from the Kent Institute of Art and Design with a Higher National Diploma in Illustration. From an illustrative beginning I went on to paint murals and produce art for commercial properties and private homes in the uk and overseas. In 2019 I achieved a first class honours degree in visual arts practice from the University of Brighton.
I use acrylic paint for most of my work, it allows me the freedom to apply the paint to the canvas in a build up of layers finishing with very thin glazes. I do like to use oil and watercolour if I am painting 'en plein air'. I post 15 minute drawing practice sketches daily on instagram and I like to use a biro for this purpose.
Inspiration for my art can come from nature, natural design and environmental concerns. I seek the beauty in nature and can find it in a living or dying flower.
